Sometimes Home Decor is Black and White

BoldSky had a great idea this week for a home decor theme: black and white! Bright colors aren’t for everyone, much less every room in your house. Black and white furniture and accessories are a simple, yet bold way to make a lasting impression.

Start from the ground up with our Alaska floor tiles, available in Klondike

...and Blackburn:

Use this sleek, black 46-inch ottoman storage bench to stow away spare items of any color:

And balance out your new black and white storage theme with our Ashley brand white chest, perfect for garments and linens.

If you’re redecoration project will be making its debut to guests, shore up some extra seating, with a black swivel chair, featuring bright, chrome supports:

Or even consider splitting up that guest room using an ornate, high contrast 3-panel divider:

Floorget About Carpet! Your Living Room Will Look Great with Tile.

If you’ve been to one of our showrooms, you’ve probably seen our wide selection of tile flooring options.

There’s certainly a lot to choose from. If you’ve never taken on a flooring project before, finding the best ideas with which to implement them can be a tall task. Decoist had a helpful article detailing some different room themes that would go nicely with tile flooring. Some their ideas include:
Living room tile flooring
The living room is where you welcome your guests, meet family members and friends. Our advice is to stick to ceramic flooring that is neutral, yet elegant. On the other hand there are carpet tiles offer plenty of room to improvise, but sticking to the classic designs and classy format serves you well. There are also porcelain tiles that look strikingly like real wood and are far more durable and moisture-resistant. Pick one of these if you really want a refined appearance.

Tile flooring for classy kitchens
For decades, tiles have been part of many kitchens, but the latest trend has saw us moving from the monotonous ceramic tiles and opt for fancy Linoleum and bamboo floor tiles. They are both highly cost-effective, easy to maintain and clean and on top of these all, they offer a certain sense of eco-friendly feel. Of course, you can still go with the painted ceramic tiles that come in hundreds of designs, but remember that they’re not cozy in winter especially if you live in a colder area.

Tile flooring for bathrooms to rejuvenate your senses
In case of bathroom floor tiles, their resistance to water and stains is the most important factor you should consider. There are loads of ceramic tile options for bathroom floors — use floral designs, different colored tiles for borders, crisscross patterns and any other inventive form you come up with. Remember that you can use the soft and gentle tones to give your bathroom a lovely romantic and laid back appeal, while solid or bold tiles will make sure that everything is soaked in contemporary style.

Utilize Space with These 4 Pieces of Furniture

Whether you live in an apartment or a larger house, making the most of the space you have available is essential. Of course, there are some large items that you just can’t compromise on: beds, refrigerators, and in some cases, the rooms themselves.

However, in the case of some furniture pieces, choosing the smaller, more practical option might be more beneficial. And InteriorDesign4 has offered some helpful advice on how to make the best use of your space and choose efficient furniture to help you achieve layout harmony.

For example, why not combine a twin bed with a dresser to eliminate the need for a bulky extra piece:

If a dresser or storage chest is an absolute necessity for you, go vertical! This tall 5-drawer chest utilizes saves horizontal space, and is available in Espresso (below), PinkWhiteBlack, and Oak.

Combining smaller living rooms with sleeping spaces is becoming an increasingly popular choice for those who want to save space. To eliminate the need for having both a couch and a bed, consider this fold-out futon sofa bed:

Or, for maximum vertical utility, with extra space to sleep and lounge, a futon bunk bed is the ultimate 2-in-1 solution.
